Growing like a weed

It seems as if Amy is growing even faster than before right now.  She has outgrown all of her newborn size clothing overnight this week.  She looks so cute in all her 0-3 month outfits, which of course are still slightly too big.  We also started solid food this week because breastmilk was just not keeping her full.  She went from waking once a night to eat to twice and then 3 times over a several week period.  She is now back to waking just once a night to nurse.

Here's a picture after her bath this week showing just how chunky she's getting.

This is a video of Amy eating solid food (rice cereal) for the first time.

What do you mean I have something on my face?  This is after her first experience with squash, which she liked.  Contrary to what it might look like, she actually ate quite a bit of the squash.
Closer view of the squash on her face.  She likes to take the bib with her hands and rub it in her face and lick the remnants off it.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone! We went to church with Bobby's parents in Raleigh and Amy was very good during the service. She did however grunt really loudly to do #2 which everyone around us thought was funny. These are a few pictures of her in her easter dress and tights, both of which are still slightly too big.

Bobby stayed in his easter clothes until Amy woke up from her nap so we could get pictures.  What a sport.
Mommy and Amy in the yard.
Laughing at her parents making monkey sounds.
Posing with the other family members.  Kosmo and Sydney didn't want to look at the camera at the same time.  Even Amy wouldn't look at the camera for these.

Match Day!!

Today was a good day! I matched at UNC, my first choice for residency. We don't have to move, which is a wonderful thought. We are all super excited about the match results. Amy came with us to Match day and was good considering it was very loud in the room with everyone opening their envelopes.

The Thekkekandam family on match day! We sat in the corner in the very last row in the auditorium. I love this photo!
After I got my envelope. I was quite nervous at this point but luckily the envelope had excellent news.
Dr. Norfleet, the Chief of Anesthesiology congratulating me!
With Dr. Norfleet and Candra, another student who matched with UNC Anesthesiology.

This is a picture of some of the medschool babies (Amy didn't want to face the camera).  Everyone is excited about where they are going next year.  All of us are staying in North Carolina!  Meg and I are in Chapel Hill, Steph in Greensboro, Amanda in Wake Forest, Lindsay in Ashevile and Jenny in Charlotte.

Amy smiles!

I had the day off today and Amy seems very happy to be spending it with her  mom.  She was all smiles for the camera, although it was quite tricky filming her while in my lap.  Hopefully she'll be in this mood tomorrow during my matchday ceremony.

I matched!

I found out today that I am officially going to be an anesthesiologist.  I have been matched up with a training program but will only be able to find out where on Thursday.  After four years of schooling, it will feel strange to receive a paycheck again.

Here are a few pictures for your to look at while awaiting the match results on Thursday.  Amy is in her exercauser, even though the poor girl's feet are nowhere near reaching the floor.

Apparently she thought her rattle would taste good.

It always happens that you can only capture the end of a smile on camera.  However, this is to show you that Amy does smile when she feels the occasion deserves one.

First trip to Greensboro

Today was Amy's first time in Greensboro to visit the Thekkekandam grandparents.  There was a lot of excitement in the air.

I love this photo, even though Amy is oblivious to the love she's getting.

Amy's "first steps"

We were testing out our new video camera today and Kosmo apparently decided he wants to be a movie star.  Amy is a little over 3 months old in this video.
