Kosmo Love

Amy recently started paying attention to the dogs and wants to "pet" them.  As small as she is, she actually scares them because she grabs their skin and pinches them, but they take it in stride.  Kosmo actually enjoys giving her "kisses" but can go overboard if you let him.  This is a video with clips of her trying to get close to pet Kosmo, but he just wants to lick her instead.  At one point she spits at Kosmo and later she gives a small giggle after Kosmo gave her a big wet one on the face.  Bobby thinks Amy might have inherited the "Lourens dog-loving" gene.

Spitting Amy

Amy's new "fun" thing to do is spit.  She sometimes will spit until she's blue in the face before she'll stop to breathe again.  It's quite funny, but not when her mouth is full of peas.  Here is a quick video demonstrating her skills.

Graduation Party

Bobby was a very dutiful husband and threw a wonderful graduation party for me at our neighborhood clubhouse.  He had it catered by Irregardless Cafe.  The food was very yummy and ranged from lamb meatballs to spinach spanakopitas.  The weather was absolutely beautiful for people who wanted to sit outside on the deck and drink beer/wine.  He did a very good job with the planning.

Bobby made my banner.  I think he had to say Dr. Janine because Dr. Thekkekandam would not fit.
My chocolate cake!  This was delicious and none of it went to waste.  You have to love how Thekkekandam kind of fades into the edge of the cake though.  Everyone always underestimates how long it actually is.

Funny photo of Amy doing crazy kicks in her swing.  Gotta love the stylish shoes.

Graduation!

Well, I finally did it.  Graduated from Medical school and am officially Janine Thekkekandam, M.D.  The graduation ceremony was on mother's day at 5pm.  It started pouring right as we were walking up to the Dean Smith Center but luckily we didn't get too wet. Currently I am enjoying my small "vacation" before orientation at UNC starts on June 18th. My first official workday is June 24th.

As per usual family tradition, a thousand photographs were taken after the graduation ceremony.  Here are a few of the pictures that were taken.

More formal picture of the Thekkekandams.  You can tell there was more than one camera since we're looking in two different directions.

Proof that I am officially a doctor:  my diploma.

McDonalds

We stopped at McDonald's on our way down to Hilton Head Island and Amy decided she wanted to play with the wrapper.  Towards the end she just rips it up.

Hilton Head Island

We recently went to Hilton Head Island with my mom and Mike after I got done with school on May 2. It was wonderful to relax and not worry about schoolwork. Amy was super cute in her bathing suit even though it was slightly big (3-6 months). Grandpa Mike did have too much fun pushing the jogging stroller... too bad we didn't get pictures of that.

Here are a few pictures from our trip...

GG (granny gail) with Amy at the pool.  I just love this picture of them in their hats.
Amy was eating her shirt in this photo, must taste pretty good.
GG on the beach with Amy.  It was rather chilly that day, so she was bundling up with her towel.
With her daddy
Chilling with her sunglasses at the pool.
Close-up of the shades.

First time in the pool, she wasn't quite sure about it.

Smiles on the beach...

Chilling with Grandpa Mike
We bought this hat at the Salty Dog Cafe shop.  It is super soft and happened to match her outfit that day.  This was taken in a restaurant while out to dinner.
She's laughing in this picture.
Beautiful baby Amy!
