Daddy's little girl...

Amy's hair is finally getting thick enough so that barrettes will stay put.  I just love this picture of my family!

Unfortunately Amy currently has a cold and Bobby just got over one.  Hopefully she'll stay clear of the ear infections this time around.  Blogging might be a little less active next month since I will be in the medical intensive care unit, i.e. many long hours at the hospital.  However, I will try my best to keep you guys informed of our family happenings.

Work in Progress

Our backyard is a desert wasteland right now but Bobby rented a slitseeder this weekend to plant some grass seed. Hopefully soon we'll be able to show you pictures of lush green grass.

You can see a some of our new patio in this picture. The trees in the background are in a protection area so there won't be any other buildings behind us.

Our barren yard facing the house.
Bobby doing his thing with the seeder.  It was very hot and our yard was covered with large rocks he had to pick up and throw out the way.
Trying not to seed our patio.
Amy was watching her daddy work outside.  She is on her tippy toes in this picture trying to get a good view of daddy.
Still watching daddy, but you can see her little teeth on the bottom coming in.  She is growing up way too fast.

Catching Up.

Amy had her 9 month check up today at the doctor.  She currently weighs 15lbs 8oz and is 26.5 inches long.  This puts her at 5th % for weight and 15th % for length.  This is very exciting since she was 5th % for both measurements at her 6 month appointment.  We knew she was growing well because her feet are now dangling off the edge of most things whereas before they barely reached the edge.

Happy Growing

Zoo

I'm officially on vacation this week so Bobby, Amy and I packed up and drove to the NC Zoo in Asheboro yesterday.  The weather was gorgeous, although some would argue a little too humid.  We saw most of the animals (the grizzlies and giraffes didn't want to come out and play).  Amy LOVED watching the chimpanzees run around and chase each other.  Other than that, she really wasn't too bothered with the rest of the animals.

Chilling in the BOB jogger outside the gorillas.  We were watching them eat.
After lunch we switched from the stroller to the Baby Bjorn.  Amy loved this form of transportation but my back was only OK with it.
Amy the zookeeper.  It took her a while to figure out you're not supposed to put your hand through the head hole.
Amy the zookeeper for real this time.
Mr. Gorilla being weird.
The polar bear wasn't very exciting.
Waiting for the shuttle to take us from the North America parking lot to the Africa parking lot where we parked.

Amy's first time on a bus.  She was excited to be going somewhere without being strapped into something.

Wolfpack Football

NC State finally won a football game, even though it was only against William and Mary.  Amy was there to soak it all in.  She was very good and didn't cry despite the heat or the length of the game.
She has a little stuffed Mr. Wuf that plays the NC State fight song and during the game she would try to find the location of the band every time she heard the fight song.

Chilling in her shades in the baby bjorn, she wants to be just like mom.  We had just arrived to the tailgate.
With Aunty Stef and aunty Beth at the tailgate.
Sweet Amy giving aunty Beth a slobbery kiss.
Sweaty baby at the tailgate.
In the stands.  Amy wasn't too concerned about the football but was well-behaved nonetheless.

Family portrait towards the end of the night.
Amy finally fell asleep with Mr. Wuf at the beginning of the 4th quarter.

Bojangles Biscuit Burglar

Tonight Amy decided she wanted to try some new food without mom's permission.  Amy had eaten her supper earlier and was sitting in my lap while I ate my Supreme dinner.  Suddenly her little hand moves as quick as lightning to grab a fistful of soft, yummy Bojangles biscuit. She stuffed that biscuit in her mouth just as quickly.
You can see the disappointment in my face as I watch her stuff her face with the best part of my biscuit.
Playing innocent Amy.  You can't believe such a sweet face would steal mom's food.
Post-biscuit glow.  She seems very proud of herself in this photo.

First trip to playground

We have a large park right next to our neighborhood, complete with soccer and softball fields. We decided Amy might enjoy a trip to the playground but found out she didn't really care for it just yet. She was indifferent to the slide and was slightly scared of the swing. I'll try to post the video as soon as I get it edited.
This photo proves how little time I spend in the sunlight these days. My legs are so white compared to Amy's lovely skin tone.

Month in Review

I apologize for not updating the blog in a while. These are some random photos from the past month.  Things have been rather uneventful in our household.  We are slowly working on getting our home more organized, we've ordered a rug for the family room and bought some curtains for the dining room and family room.  Our patio is also finished, so we're able to spend more time outside grilling out.  Amy is getting over a cold, but has not let it slow her down.  She also has two teeth on her bottom gum coming in.  We are having to keep a really close eye on her because she is into everything now.

I love this photo of Amy and her daddy.  They are sitting on our new patio wall after grilling out.  Amy was helping Kosmo pick out a rug.  We brought home several samples and they decided the samples were more comfortable than the hardwoods.
Amy is under the dishwasher in this picture.  She is crawling everywhere trying to get into everything.
Cheesy grin.  Amy LOVES cheese, I guess she gets that from her dad.
Sitting with mom after grilling out.
I think she is starting her Coach bag obsession a little early.  She was inspecting my work bag but decided it would taste better instead.
Crazy hair after a bath.  This picture doesn't capture the true craziness.
Family waiting for mom to come home from work.  It was super sweet and totally made my day.  Kosmo was already waiting for me near the front door.
Waiting for mom to come home from a different perspective.
This is Amy's usual activity now.  Standing and pulling herself up on anything she can get ahold of.  She usually lets go and then sees how long she can stand without holding on.
