Birthday Party

Amy went to a 2 year old birthday party a few weekends ago and had a blast!  She loved getting her face painted and got to play on the grass outside.  She was not a huge fan of the cupcakes but did eat an entire slice of Papa John's pizza by herself.    Here are a few photos and a video at the end.
Picking out what face she wants... She is such a girly girl sometimes.
Face Painting!!  She was very patient with the gentleman doing the painting.
Hanging out with mom!
Hanging out with dad!
So the cupcakes had this neon green icing which tasted horrible.  I don't blame her for leaving it after two bites.
She loved her balloon on the other hand!  Amy doing the limbo.  The kids had a great time running around in circles and going under the pole.

The kids had a blast with the parachute.  At first they made a ball flip on it by shaking the parachute.  Then they sat in the middle as the parents created a breeze with the parachute.  Amy loved that the best because her hair went crazy.

Foiled birthday surprise

I decided to get some photos done for Bobby's birthday as a surprise.  Unfortunately I didn't take into account that they would send the photosession information to our combined email account!

Gymnastics

Amy had her first gymnastics class yesterday.  She found it very exciting and overwhelming.  This is a video of her doing some of the activities after she warmed up to them.  At one point she wanted to join the older girls and ran away from me.  Hope you enjoy!

Wakeboarding at LKG

We recently spent a week at lake gaston and this is a video showing all the thrills and spills Pierre, I and Bobby took.  Unfortunately, Bobby was never actually able to get out of the water, but next time.

As soon as I download the photos to the computer I'll post some.

Update

I am finally on my last rotation as an intern, which happens to be anesthesia!  It is wonderful as I am not working weekends or taking call for anesthesia yet.  My vacation starts next weekend and we'll be celebrating Thomas' medical school graduation.  Congratulations!  After that we'll be heading to lake gaston to chill with the family.

My first day as a CA-1 (first year anesthesia but second year resident) is on July 1st.  I'll be on call that day so we'll see how that goes.

Bobby is doing well, still working a lot.  He's also been working really hard on our "pub".  Pictures will soon follow.  We've also had our yard landscaped and hopefully our sprinkler system will be up and running on Monday.

Amy just moved up to the next classroom 18mo - 2 years.  She is getting so big now.  She is talking up a storm, although I'm sure most people can't understand her.  She also goes non-stop, sometimes I wish I had her energy.

These are two videos I took today - the first one is of her dancing, one of her favorite activities.  The second is to show why Kosmo is such a great dog - she just climbs all over him and he barely opens an eye.

Corn on the cob

We grilled some corn tonight and Amy wanted to give it a try.  She loved the buttery taste of my corn.  I guess we'll be grilling more than 2 at a time now.  Please disregard the huge mess she created by dumping her plate's contents onto her table.

Happy Easter

I was lucky enough to have easter weekend off, so we spent Sunday morning in High Point with the Thekkekandams.  We met them at the church in Greensboro, and Amy was very good during mass.  We came home to eat lunch and then had her easter egg hunt - her very first easter egg hunt.  She had a blast putting her eggs into her basket.

Amy seems thrilled to be in these easter photos.  These were taken after the hunt so she just wanted to play with the eggs.
The extended Thekkekandam family.  Bobby had to stand on the top of a hill so it really looks like he's towering over everyone.
Take 2 for family portrait.  Amy seems a little more interested.
See, this is MY easter basket to find my easter eggs (which did not have any candy inside).  I'll show you guys how to find some easter eggs!
This is after she placed an egg in her basket... clapping for herself.
Ooh, I'm going to get that one too!
Gently sitting down to get the egg to put in the basket.  See, this is how you do it people.
Her next target was the yellow egg.
She found the red ladybug egg... very proud of herself.

Running around the side of the house with Papa!  Who knows what adventure awaits her in the backyard.
Waving to the airplane.  This is her new thing to do whenever she hears/sees a plane:  she waves and says "ello"
Looking at something very interesting...

Picasso

Amy's quite the little artist!  We went to ToysRUs today to spend some of her gift cards from December and got her a few markers.  She had a blast drawing on the back of one of my work papers.

Concentrating very hard on drawing beautiful yellow squiggles.
Very proud of herself...  Do you blame her?  Also, look at the husband vacuuming in the background.  He's awesome!
This is before she started drawing on the table.  Good thing Crayola makes washable markers.
And here it is: Amy's final masterpiece.  The pink is a little faded because she decided it needed to be watered down with some spit (she tried to eat the pink marker).

Our little painter!

We are in the process of redecorating our formal living room and Amy was desperate to help us pick a paint color. Here is a video of her "painting".

BUBBLES

This is a video of Amy one night last month after she discovered her bubbles on the floor. She has since learned how to say "bubbles" although I still think only her dad and I are able to decipher that. Excuse her pants in this video, they are still hopelessly to big but she'll grow into them eventually.
